Guide to Leases: Understanding Leases and the Law

The purpose of this continuing education is to provide the attendees with a basic overview and understanding of lease law and the obligations, rights, and warranties of both the lessor and the lessee. The presentation aims to make the attendees more knowledgeable on the subject of leases so that they can better serve their clients and protect their client’s interests. We will use the Louisiana Civil Code as a baseline for the information that is presented, but also use real world experiences and case law to help clarify the meaning and intent behind the code. The presentation will encourage an open dialogue with the attendees to better help them understand any questions or common issues.
